A,E,I, O, U and sometimes Y is taught very quickly to little ones in regards learning about vowels. But the truth is vowel sounds can be tricky to learn! This activity is focused on identifying vowels so your little one will be ready to learn their sounds too! My favorite activities are the ones that hit multiple skills! This letter graph will help with letter identification, sorting counting and graphing! All of these skills are important for little ones. This activity can be used with older preschool students, kindergarteners and even first graders. Plus, it’s super simple and free!
Directions:
- Print out the graph and vowel letter card instantly HERE.
- Cut out all of the vowel letter cards and tape them all over your house!
- Have your child walk around the house and find all of the vowel letter cards.
- Next, they will sort all of the vowel letter cards and graph them on their Vowel Letter Graph. Have them say the letter of each letter that they find.
Here are some questions you can ask little ones about their Vowel Letter Graph to extend the learning:
- What letter did you find the most of?
- What letter did you find the least of?
- Which of these vowels are in your name?
- What sounds do these letters make?
- How many letters did you find in all?
