Coloring Pages
The flower coloring page featured in each of these activities is from my May Toddler Activities.I literally printed it five times and completed the five different activities with my own toddler through the month of May! I actually do this every month using the coloring page included for each month inside of my Monthly Toddler Activities. If you are looking for some other great toddler coloring pages that are educational too be sure to check out my Number of the Week Worksheets and Activities as well! Printable coloring pages like this are included for each number!
Here are the five activities you can do with a coloring page:
Use toddler coloring pages with stickers.
Stickers are inexpensive, easy to find and no mess. Plus, they are SO great for working those teeny tiny finger muscles and strengthening fine motor skills! As a teacher, anytime students were struggling with cutting or writing, I always recommended stickers! The possibilities of sticker activities are endless and they work well with these toddler coloring pages!

Encourage your toddler or preschooler to trace the lines of the coloring page using stickers. Any stickers will do! I ordered this pack of stickers and we use them for activities all the time! They are also available in a larger one inch size! You can also add sorting to this activity and have your child trace different parts of the image with different colored stickers. Peel and remove the sticker sheet backing to make peeling stickers easier for your child. If your toddler loves using stickers, check out this post with lots of sticker ideas just for toddlers.
Use toddler coloring pages with paper.
It doesn’t get any easier than this! Have your little one tear pieces of colored paper and glue them onto the coloring page using a glue stick or a paint brush with liquid glue. It makes for such a cute craft!
Tearing regular paper can be a challenge for younger toddlers and preschoolers. If your little one isn’t quite ready for that, try using newspaper or tissue paper first! You can also cut the paper into horizontal strips to make it easer to tear. Or, you can even cut the paper yourself into small squares for your toddler to manipulate! For the ultimate no prep required, check out these pre-cut tissue paper squares!
Use toddler coloring pages with paint.
I know what you are thinking. Give my toddler paint? Hear me out on this one. There are tons of different paint options that your toddler will enjoy with limited mess. We love these Do-a-Dot Art paints. I remember using them as a kid myself. They are easy for little ones to grip and come in all sorts of fun colors like these shimmer ones! We also love using these paint sticks! If you are planning to use these coloring pages for painting I recommend printing on this paper for added stability!
Use toddler coloring pages with scissors.
I know scissors and kids can be really intimidating and little ones definitely need close supervision when scissors are involved. After your child colors the picture; have them cut it out and glue it onto a piece of construction paper for easy cutting practice! Not sure what scissors to start with? I I visited with occupational therapist, Sabrina Adair and she recommended starting with these scissors. If your toddler is ready for more cutting practice, consider setting up a cutting box. This post will show you how!
Use toddler coloring pages with erasers.
Do you happen to have some of the mini erasers from the Target dollar section or anywhere else? Use them with a toddler coloring page! Your little one will love outlining coloring pages with erasers. As always, supervise your toddler carefully. Small objects can become a choking hazard.
