We are all looking for quick, easy, no prep and FUN activities to do with little ones! That’s why sticker activities are a favorite! Stickers are inexpensive, easy to find and no mess. Plus, they are SO great for working those teeny tiny finger muscles and strengthening fine motor skills! Anytime students were struggling with cutting or writing, I always recommended stickers! The possibilities of sticker activities are endless, but here are a few super easy ones to get you started!
Write a sticker story.
This was a favorite with both my kindergarteners and first grade students! Let students create a picture with sticker and then they can write a story to match. I recommend setting a maximum number of stickers they can use (maybe 3-5) so they don’t become over whelmed. Have little ones who aren’t writing yet? Have them TELL you the story! This is such amazing language practice for them and can help get those creative juices flowing. They can also use crayons (HERE is my recommendation for little hands) to add more details to their story setting.

Practice Counting
It doesn’t get any easier than this! Write down a number and have your child put that many stickers with it! If your little one is still working on what numbers represent, draw little dots for them to match each sticker to!
Decorate a shape.
This is especially fun for toddlers who are just getting started with sticker activities. Draw a seasonal shape (or I have some that you can print HERE) for your little one to decorate. Just peeling the stickers off the page is so good for those little finger muscles!
Trace a name, letter, numbers, sight words, shapes…anything!
The more print your child is exposed to, the better! One of the first words your child understands is their name, so it makes sense that this is usually one of the first words they can read too! You can expose them to tons of academic concepts using stickers. All of these pages are ready for you to print and use HERE.
Keep it simple, stupid.
Obviously, I don’t think you are stupid! But, I love that expression and it’s so true for so many things. We want everything we do to be this big, elaborate thing and it doesn’t need to be. Your little one is just excited to do something new and fun. I found a bunch of random stickers in my drawer and made this little sticker match activity. It doesn’t get any easier than this! Grab stickers like these and make a matching game! BAM!
Tips for sticker activities:
- The bigger the sticker, the easier it will be for little hands to peel. Start with bigger stickers and work down to smaller ones. This should be fun and an activity that your little one can feel success with!
- Start small! It’s no secret that little ones have little attention spans! Maybe start with “writing” your child’s name with stickers and just do a letter a day!
- Make it big! If you are doing sticker activities with toddlers, write everything much bigger than you normally would so they can be successful! This paper is fun to use and makes every activity feel special.
Let’s do this! I would love to see how you use stickers with your little ones!
