Are you looking for some snowman math ideas? This post is dedicated to snowman math activities that are perfect for Kindergarten students.
These activities are focused on numbers 0 to 20 and will help you to meet multiple standards. These activities are print and go and can be used all winter long! Students will read, write and represent whole numbers 0 to 20, count sets of objects to 20, and use comparative language to describe two numbers up to 20 presented as written numerals.
Snowman Math Stations
I love planning seasonal math stations for my students that align with the skills we are focusing on. This blog post is focused on snowman-themed math stations that you can print and use with your students right now. Here are some of the skills they will helo your students with:
- Reading, writing and representing whole numbers 0 to 20
- Counting sets of objects to 20
- Using comparative language to describe two numbers up to 20 presented as written numerals
- Number Seqencing
- Simple addition to 10
Here is a peek at a few of the activities included in Snowman Math Centers.
Snowman Number Building
Cutting out math centers can take SO much time! Not with these snowmen! Each piece of the number-building puzzle is on a rectangle for easy and fast cutting! It can even be used with a paper cutter! Students will build snowmen by matching a numeral, a number word, and that number of objects represented in a ten frame. Numbers 0 to 20 are included, plus a chart to help students who need extra support reading number words
Snowman Ten Frames
Ten frames are a wonderful math tool for younger students especially and really help them develop a visual representation for numbers in relation to 10. For this activity, students will represent whole numbers to 20 using objects on a tens frame. This is a really fun activity to pair with seasonal erasers from the dollar store or Target dollar section.
Number Sequencing
For this activity, students will fill in the missing number in a set of three numbers. I recommend laminating these cards and pairing them with a dry erase marker. Again, these are easy to cut! 🙌
