The second week of school is so much easier than the first! We has a really fun week with Pete the Cat and other"Kindergarten classic books like Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I absolutely love Pete the Cat and all of the cute videos and songs that go with each book. We started the week with reading, Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes. We used the colors chart in out classroom to help us write the different color words. The First Week of Kindergarten
Whew! I have the first week of Kindergarten behind me! It was really nice to have a three day week too. I have a precious class this year and we are off to a great start! Here are some highlights from the first week of Kindergarten! The week kicked off on Monday with Meet the Teacher. Here is my door! The inside says "Mrs. Chesworth's Class Clowns" and each child has a spot with their name on it. Later in the week, I took I picture of each child dressed up in silly circus gear to go on the door. Back to School mode is in full swing over here! I have managed to destroy every room in our house with school projects, including the back porch! I have also been spending every spare moment in my classroom, buying things for my classroom, making things for my classroom or pinning things for my classroom. Can you relate? I am SO excited about how my beginning of the year gifts turned out! On Meet the Teacher Night I always like to have a little something to send my new Kinderbabies home with. My classroom is circus themed, so I have been racking my brain to think of something cute and circus related to give. Easter Fun
I hope that everyone is having a happy and blessed day! We have been so busy with all of our spring and Easter activities, that I haven't blogged about any of them. If you have been following me on Instagram, than you have already had a sneak peak! If not, enjoy! : ) We spent most of the month counting down the days until our baby chicks hatched! We learned lots about chicks and chickens. I just love teaching interactive writing! This group of kids has really struggled with using uppercase letters to begin a sentence. The Wonderful Wedding of Q and U
Last week was the WONDERFUL wedding of Q and U. This is one of my favorite phonics lessons the entire year! It is so meaningful for the kids and one of those special memories of Kindergarten! : ) The Happy Couple I bought the large wooden letters from Hobby Lobby and then painted and decorated them. Classroom Tour
I can't get it all together this year. I am just now posting pictures of my Kindergarten classroom. This year I stuck with my Circus themed classroom. I really love all of the bright primary colors and I couldn't imagine completely changing everything after only one year. Here is a little tour of my classroom: Come on in! Muffins with Mom
I am home sick AGAIN! The stomach bug has been making it's way around our school and I was a victim of it all weekend. Apparently, it isn't all out of my system either : ( I am resting all day today and hopefully I will be back to normal tomorrow. This has been one of the busiest weeks of my life! I started my new teacher professional development on Monday and have been going nonstop all week. I feel so behind in bloggy land.
