Ghost Craft with Cotton Balls
I love a cute craft that also works on fine motor skills! This ghost craft is super simple. Students will just cover the ghost with cotton balls and add eyes with a smile!
Candy Corn Craft
Another favorite October Toddler Activity is this Candy Corn Craft. It works well with tissue paper squares or torn paper. Just cover the different parts of the candy corn with orange tissue paper and yellow tissue paper.
Spider Color Matching
This spider works on matching colors. The legs can even be glued onto clothespins for additional fine motor practice!
Pumpkin Shape Play Dough Mats
These pumpkin shape play dough mats are perfect for sensory play. First, teach toddlers how to roll “snakes” using play dough. Then, encourage them to trace and build each shape on the mat using the play dough snakes.
Mats are included for: circle, triangle, square, heart, star and rectangle. You can check out more seasonal shape activities in this post, Halloween Shape Activities for Preschool and Kindergarten.
Spider Shape Tracing
This Spider Shape Tracing is a simple activity that young students will love! Print out pictures of each spider web shape and tape them around the classroom for students to find. Each student will have a tracing shapes worksheet to trace each shape that they find!
This activity helps students learn the names of shapes and practice tracing while moving around the classroom! You can check out more shape tracing activities in this post, Interactive Shape Tracing Worksheets for Preschool.
Halloween Emergent Reader
This fun Halloween Counting Emergent Reader is the perfect addition to your Halloween lesson plans and a fun way to tie reading and math together! Children will love boosting their reading confidence as they practice counting and recognizing numbers 1 to 5.
This is a fun printbable to send home for families to enjoy reading together too!
Ghost Counting Mats
Toddlers love to practice counting and exploring quantities. These ghost counting mats can be used with any manipulatives! Colorful pom poms, candy corn and marshmallows are all fun counting materials for fall! This is one of my favorite October Toddler Activities because it helps develop one to one correspondence in a fun way.
October Preschool Math Journals
If you’re looking for a simple, ready-to-use way to add seasonal math practice to your toddler or preschooler’s routine, October Preschool Math Journals are a great option!
Each page is designed with fun fall themes—like pumpkins, leaves, and Halloween images—that keep little learners engaged while practicing important early math skills. From counting and number recognition to simple patterns and shapes, these journals make math feel like play. Plus, they’re easy to print and use at home or in the classroom, making them a perfect grab-and-go activity for busy fall days.
