Looking for number 1 worksheets? Numbers, letters and shapes are all important concepts for preschoolers to learn! Many teachers will choose to focus on a number of the week with their students when introducing numbers. Of course, don’t expect to just teach a number one week and it to be mastered. Like any concept, students learn best when skills are integrated and reviewed. This post is focused on the number 1! Number 1 Pocket Chart Activities
Pocket chart activities are my favorite. I love having a pocket chart set up in my classroom that can be used for stations across all subject areas. They are also great for learning at home too! We actually have this one in our playroom! Here are two easy number 1 pocket chart activities perfect for preschoolers or Kindergarten students.
Sentence Scramble
Sentence scrambles are one of my very favorite activities because they hit SO many skills at one time! This makes a great center!
This number 1 sentence scramble also has a corresponding emergent reader. Your little ones will read the same sentences, color the coordinating pictures and practice their reading skills too!
Counting Cards Sort
For this activity students will sort picture cards to practice counting and identifying the number 1 using objects. Students will use the header cards to correctly sort the pictures into two categories: one and not one. This activity is great for preschools who may be overwhelmed by counting many objects at a time. They are simply focuses on sorting and counting quantities of one. If your students are ready for a challenge they can count and label the other quantities shown using post it notes.
