Since my kids are younger, we gave the MEL Kids science kits a try. Here is a little peek at one of the science kits included in the MEL Kids set. This kit is called Jungle Jack and students will build a simple hydraulic system! How cool is that? All of the materials are included to assemble a model of a real jack lift and explore how a scissors mechanism works.
The first thing I noticed is that everything inside of the kit is well organized and ready to go out of the box, which is so helpful for busy parents like us. The only additional material that we needed was a cup of water.
Our family had a great time together building this jack lift from the Jungle Jack kit and exploring how a hydraulic system works. EK was so proud to help and proudly displayed our creation on the dresser in her bedroom.
Science and Literacy
One of my favorite parts of the kit is that it also includes literacy! There is an intro comic book that sets the stage for the science journey to come. Kids will love the fun dinosaur characters that appear in each story. The instruction book is also in comic book form, making it fun and easy to follow for both kids and parents. The pictures coordinate with exactly what is included in the kit which is so helpful for visual learners like me. The science concept is even explained with pictures in comic book form. Amazing!
