Valentine’s Day Crafts
It’s no secret that toddlers and preschoolers love making crafts! Here are a few craft activities that are perfect for the month of February.
I Love You to Pieces Card
Tearing paper is so good for fine motor skills and it requires literally no preparation. This card is the perfect valentine for toddlers to make for their families or loved ones. Children will simply tear construction paper and glue it inside the heart shape.
Q-Tip Heart Painting
Q-Tip Painting activities are perfect for little ones. They are some of my favorites because they require only a few materials! They help develop fine motor skills and one-to-one correspondence! This makes a really fun Valentine’s Day project for toddlers!

Heart Tree Craft
This may be my very favorite Valentine’s Day craft for toddlers! Have some heart stickers or foam hearts laying around? Turn them into a Heart Tree!
This printable activity is super simple and can be completed again and again! I recommend printing the tree on cardstock for durability.

February Centers
These simple centers are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers to learn with during the month of February.
Play Dough Mats
Play dough mats are a great activity for toddlers and preschoolers. These donut-themed shape mats are perfect for the sweet month of February. Little ones will practice making the following shapes: a circle, a triangle, a square, a heart, a star, and a rectangle.
First, I recommend teaching toddlers how to roll a “snake” to play dough and then teaching them how to twist the dough to form different shapes.
Size Sorting
Size sorting is a strong cognitive skill and a developmental milestone that should be practiced by toddlers. Using sorting cards helps toddlers learn to sort items into groups and practice classifying objects. It also develops math vocabulary.
Color Recognition Cards
These simple clip cards make an easy center for toddlers to practice color matching and recognition. Little ones will simply pin a clothespin onto the matching colored heart.
Counting Cards
Some toddlers are preschoolers are ready to practice counting objects and recognizing numbers. These counting cards are cupcake themed and a fun addition to your classroom. They are great for working with small groups of students or can even be created as a class and displayed during the month.
Toddler February Worksheets
Tracing lines is a pre-requisite skill to writing! Tracing these simple lines is a great activity for little ones. I recommend letting toddlers use a washable non-toxic marker. It is smoother for writing and won’t break!
