Holiday books are my very favorite. I have always looked forward to putting out new seasonal books in my home and classroom. I had so much fun putting together this list of Easter Board Books for Babies and Toddlers. When choosing books for babies and toddlers I always look for the following things:
- Sturdiness and material of the book (It has to hold up to tiny hands!)
- Short text and simple storylines
- Familiar language and experiences
- Interactive elements(flaps, tabs, finger trails, music)
There are TONS of amazing books that don’t meet this criteria, but when I am specifically looking for books that will appeal to babies and toddlers those are things that I pay special attention to. With that being said, here are my favorite Easter Board Books for Babies and Toddlers:
Humpty Dumpty Nursery Rhymes: Do you know about Cali’s Books? They are new to me and I really love them! Each of their books have music and lyrics for six songs. The buttons to play each song are SO easy for babies and toddlers to press. This book features songs like, “Five Little Bunnies” and “Old McDonald Had some Chicks.” So it’s fun to read and sing with the entire season!
Peek-a-Flap HOP: If you are looking for a gift, this is perfect! It just came out in December so chances are that your special little one doesn’t have it! The chunky flaps can’t be beat for little hands and I absolutely LOVE that the books has labels. Toddlers who are learning to point and name items will adore this book.
Easter Bunny School: This little book is perfect for introducing Easter traditions. The cute characters make it fun to read aloud too! Toddlers would really enjoy this book as they prepare for the Easter Bunny’s visit.
Hello, Bunny: This book is so simple and a great pick for babies. It has a simple text structure and introduces babies to spring animals including lambs, chicks, butterflies, and more. Peek-a-boo holes also bring the illustrations to life.
Lift-the-Flap Big Egg, Small Egg: This book focuses on opposites, so it’s a great pick for language development! Each page also has a finger trail that leads to a flap to open. The finger trails are very defined and easy for tiny fingers to follow, so they give great sensory feedback!
Hippity, Hoppity Little Bunny: The little bunny in this book is also a finger puppet which means EK automatically loves it! She thinks it’s so funny that I can make the little bunny move. This book also rhymes!
Babies Love Easter: The entire Babies Love series is great! They are short, simple and introduce babies to language
Jesus Loves Me: This little book of prayers is so sweet for anytime and would make a great Easter basket stuffer. I love the hand shape of the book too!
One Little Bunny: I’m a real sucker for a good counting book. This one is perfect for babies babies and toddlers because it only focuses on numbers 1-5. This book also has cut out pictures, so your child will enjoy touching and exploring each page.
Happy & Hoppy: How cute is this book? It even has a handle so it can be carried and read anywhere! Each page has a flap and a task for your toddler to complete using the illustrations such as looking for colors or shapes. It also has some language questions to match.
Where Are Baby’s Easter Eggs? I really love the Karen Katz lift-the-flap books! There is one for just about every holiday! But I’ll be totally honest with you, the flaps are definitely not as sturdy as the other lift-a-flap books that I have mentioned. They pretty much all end up with tape at some point. I still love these books for asking questions and language practice.
An Easter Prayer: A sweet friend left this book on our doorstep and it is just so precious. This book is what we need right now.
If I Were a Bunny: EK received this book as a gift at her Some Bunny is One Birthday Party. It’s a simple, sweet touch and feel book! It has a fuzzy bunny tail attached to that back cover that EK loves to carry the book with.

Owen’s Marshmallow Chick: You are probably already familiar with children’s book author and illustrator, Kevin Henkes. He is one of my favorites. His popular character Owen is featured in this sweet Easter story. This book is ideal for a toddler who can follow a simple story. Owen eats everything is his Easter basket, except his marshmallow chick.
I am a Bunny: This book is a Richard Scarry classic and it was given to us as a baby gift for EK by one of my previous students. I absolutely love the sweet illustrations in this books and it’s a great introduction to seasons for toddlers.
Hop! Hop! : This book is all about Easter through the eyes of a toddler! This author is one of my very favorites! We almost have the whole board book collection!
